    One of the oldest defensive structures built to protect Mumbai Formerly Bombay was Bombay castle. It was made of Kurla stone and red laterite stone by British architects. Although the wall was demolished, still some fragments still exist which tells the tale of this amazing structure.

    One of the museums which are a must visit is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sanghralaya (King Shivaji Museum). It has about 50,000 exhibits containing relics of ancient India including Indus civilisation, the relics during the time of Mauryas, Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas. This museum takes us back to the history of India.
